Things That Make You Go "Mmm"

These days Chloe is getting cuter and cuter when she eats. She loves to say "Mmm" when she's enjoying her meal. Mama and Daddy are delighted that she's learning to express herself in a new way!

She Walks!!!

Out of no where, Baby Girl decided to walk this weekend! Mama and Daddy thought she was gonna need some more practice between baby steps, stumbling about and walking...but to everyone's surprise Chloe decided to take the leap of faith and walk! Mama and Daddy couldn't have been any prouder this weekend when they saw their Baby Girl wobbling around the home. Chloe has officially become a toddler!

Pool Partay!

Chloe had a blast with her Cousin Katie and Auntie Kimmie today. She loved having a pool party with her family and getting her grub on right afterwards. By the end of the night she was so exhausted from all the partying that she went to bed without a whimper or cry!

Cell Phone

Mama decided to get Chloe a fake phone since she's been pulling at Mama's real cell phone everytime Daddy calls from out of town. It's cute to see that she wants to hear her Daddy's voice, but it's not always nice to have baby slobber on the phone! Now that she has her own cell, she loves to make pretend phone calls to all of her loved ones!

New Bed Time Routine

Now that Baby Girl is one, Mama and Daddy have decided to mix things up a bit. Mama and Daddy have been working hard to get her off the bottle and into the sippy cup. It's been a little difficult, but Chloe's gettin the hang of things. To make her less dependent on the bottle, Mama and Daddy decided to change her bed time routine. It use to go something like this...bath, bottle and bed. Now she's such a big girl that she doesn't even need the bottle to pass out! She's moved on up to bath, bottle or sippy cup depending on her mood, teeth brushing, quiet time and then bed. Mama and Daddy are just so happy that she is so easy going with the transition!

Trim

Mama and Daddy were waiting for Chloe to turn one before they gave her a hair cut. Good thing Nanny Juanita is experienced in this department! She gave Baby Girl a little trim today and to Mama's surprise, Chloe was such an angel during the hair cut!

Afterwards, Mama treated Baby Girl to a nice Mexican Dinner with some of her girlfiriends. Chloe had a good 'ole time eating chips, playing with the crayons and getting attention from all the ladies. And to top that, she looked even cuter with her new do!

Weened Off!

It's official! Baby Girl is done with Mama's boobies! Mama knew this time was coming since the feedings were dwindling down but it still broke Mama's heart when Chloe rejected her! After some good cuddling and one on one time with Baby Girl, Mama decided this was the right thing for the both of them!

In other news, Chloe had a great full day. Baby Girl got to spend time with Mama and Daddy swimming and had some unexpected visitors. First, Grandma Phan dropped by for some quality time with Baby Girl. After that, Auntie Angelica had some girl time with Chloe while Mama and Daddy went on a date night. All that excitement was just what Baby Girl needed to pass out for the night!

Lions, Bears, Oh My!

Baby Girl had a big day today. Chloe went on her first Zoo trip with her friend Sabine. Both Babies had a blast checking out the animals and playing together. The best part of the day was when the friends shared a peanut butter and jelly sandwich during their break.

After that, Baby Girl headed to Rice Village to have dinner and shop with some of Mama's friends. Mama had a little break cause everyone wanted a piece of Chloe. It's always nice to be loved!

Daddy's First Father's Day

The Phans headed out to celebrate Daddy's First Father's Day today. Chloe had a blast checking out the fish in the tank next to her while Daddy and Mama chowed down on some yummy Peking Duck.

After lunch was over, Baby Girl got a nice surprise when Grandma Phan brought out six little cakes to also celebrate Auntie Kimmie's birthday. Chloe was so happy on all the sugar that she was all smiles. It's always nice to see a baby high on sugar!

House Hunting Again

And the search continues...Uncle Giang is still looking for a new place to call home. Unfortunately, he hasn't found the "one." Hopefully Baby Girl can give him luck on the next house hunt!

Day 371 - Fifty Two Weeks Baby!

Now that Baby Girl's turned one, Mama will be changing her posting style. No more posts with Chloe's "Day Number" and no more weekly posts with her Cabbage Patch Doll. When Baby Girl was born, Mama made it a goal to post a blog for every day of Chloe's life for the first year. Mama and Daddy knew it would be a cool way to look back and see how much Baby Girl's changed over the first year of her life. Now that Chloe's made that big milestone, Mama can relax a bit and enjoy the ride!!!!

Here's Chloe's latest from her final week countdown. Baby Girl became super independent this week. For some reason, as soon as she turned one it was like a light bulb turned on! Chloe figured out that she could do things on her own! Mama and Daddy had to struggle with Baby Girl this week with all of her feeding utensils. Instead of just sitting back and enjoying being spoon fed, Chloe decided that this was the week that she needed to try to be on her own and feed herself. Things got a little messy, but Mama had to overlook that cause her Baby Girl was growing up!

Another cool thing that Chloe learned this week was to turn off lights compliments of Daddy. She loves to just turn the lights off over and over again. She giggles everytime the lights go out when she pushes on the switch. What a sweet sound that is!

Baby Girl continues to amaze Mama and Daddy on how much she understands the Vietnamese and English language. It's cool enough that she dances, eats, drinks and kisses on demand when asked in both English and Vietnamese but now she has added the skill of giving on demand in both languages. Mama and Daddy is loving the fact that she is soaking up both languages and cultures!

Day 370 - Bling Bling!

Chloe had a full day of Girls Only activities. The first thing she did was hit Louise Blum to help find the perfect wedding dress for one of Mama's closest friends. Baby Girl was such a trooper that morning that it made Mama so proud. She hung out in the dressing room while Mama and her girls searched for "the dress."

After finding "the dress," Mama and her girls took Chloe to Claire's to get her ears pierced. Mama was as nervous as can be, but after the first piercing Mama was a little less stressed. Chloe was so amazing that she didn't even cry when she go her ear pierced for the first time! Is this an indication of how strong of a woman Baby Girl will be? If so, Mama couldn't be prouder!
